The Process of Doing Business with A Brush With Design

First:  You may contact us either by email:  info@aBrushWithDesign.com or by phone:  703-232-5858.  We'll discuss your ideas and visions with you and set up an appointment for a free consultation to discuss the particular faux finish texture, mural composition, stencil pattern or trompe l'oeil depiction you desire.  The first consultation is always free. 

Second:  We come to your home, discuss your ideas further, view your visual aides, if any, show you our portfolio, take measurements, and assess the faux finish, mural, stenciling, or trompe l'oeil work to be done.

Third:  We prepare a written estimate/contract and send it to you as quickly as we can.

Fourth:  You review the estimate/contract, sign it, and send it back with a 50% deposit.

Fifth:  We prepare one or more sample boards and/or drawings, depending on the situation.  We then deliver these to you for you to view, place around the room, and show to your friends and family.  If you are not totally satisfied with the first set of samples, we will either tweak them to your satisfaction or prepare a new set.  You may incur an additional charge for additional sample boards.

Sixth:  When you approve of the samples, sign off on them, and call us to schedule a mutally agreed upon start date.

Seventh:  Prior to the start date, you need to prepare your room.  All breakables and as much furniture as possible must be removed.  Any remaining furniture should be moved to allow the crew and equipment full access to the working areas.  Floors, walls, moldings and trim should be dusted and wiped clean.  Some walls may require additional cleaning.  Existing wallpaper should be removed and the walls smoothed.  Major drywall damage should be repaired and allowed to cure for at least 48 hours prior to the start date.

Eighth:  A Brush With Design begins work, starting with preparation.   We're not finished until you are satisfied, guaranteed.  Then, sit back and enjoy the view.  

Cancellation policy:  If you change your mind after sending in a deposit, but prior to work beginning in your home, a partial refund may be available commensurate with how much work has been performed and how many supplies have been purchased, at the sole discretion of A Brush With Design. 

Working with designers:  We welcome designers to contact us directly or to refer their clients to us.  We will work hand in hand with your designer throughout every stage of the process.

Determining prices:  Many factors are involved in determining prices.  These factors include size of room(s), existing color and condition of walls, ceiling height, obstacles, etc.  Each room and design needs to be looked at individually before a price can be determined.  Our prices include all labor and material unless explicitly stated.

Time to complete a job:  Just like determining price, many factors are involved in determining how long it takes to complete a job.  For example, painting ceilings and walls with high ceilings will take longer.  Setting up scaffolding takes extra time.  Drastic color changes may take additional coats, etc.
